1 ounce vanilla vodka
1/2 ounce simple syrup
2 ounces fresh orange juice
1 ounce heavy cream*
white sugar and grated orange zest for the glass
a wedge of orange
a slice of orange
Tastes just like the Creamsicle (or Dreamsicle) of my childhood. But with booze.

*Don't try to use anything less fatty than heavy cream or it will curdle.
Combine the sugar and orange zest on a paper plate. Mix well.
Moisten the rim of a cocktail glass with the orange wedge and dip the outer rim in the sugar.
Chill the glass while you mix the cocktail.
Combine the liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well.
Strain into prepared martini glass and garnish with a slice of orange.
