2 ounces Hendrick's gin
1/2 ounce lemon juice*
1/2 ounce ginger syrup
*Fresh lemon juice. The kind that comes out of a lemon, not a bottle or a plastic lemon-shaped-thing.
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with lots of ice.
Shake. Strain into a martini glass.
Ginger Syrup:
1/4 cup sliced fresh ginger (no need to peel it)
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Combine sugar, water, and ginger in a small sauce pan. Simmer until sugar dissolves. Let sit until cool, then strain out and discard the ginger pieces. Store in the fridge.
